Celery/Apple Juice

Recipe:
1 Stalk Celery
1 Green or golden delicious apple.

I usually double it, it makes about 10oz of juice.
Juicer I use for this recipe is the Breville Fountain of Juice

Some Celery Benefits:

"In the early middle ages celery juice was used for curing ailments such as gallstones, constipation, menstrual problems and for health disorders of the liver and gall bladder."  I have noticed a significant change (for the better) on menstrual problems after incorporating Celery juice more often into my life.  Some of the symptoms are very very mild now.

"Celery juice is highly nutritious and very hydrating. Because it is incredibly alkalizing, it equalizes the body's PH, which is essential for good health. All parts of celery are packed with minerals, vitamins and nutrients. Celery leaves are high in vitamin A, whilst the stems are an excellent source of vitamins B1, B2, B6 and C and dense in potassium, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, sodium and essential amino acids.
This super food also contains important concentrations of plant hormones and healing essential oils that give celery its characteristic smell. These oils help to regulate the nervous system, and are very calming.

Sodium that is available in celery is soluble and organic (living), and is essential for the body. Organic salt allows the body to use the other nutrients that are taken into the body. Every cell in our body is constantly bathed in a salt solution, and if the salt level is not in balance, dehydration occurs. This is why celery juice is a perfect rehydration drink for athletes. "

Change is good :)

Tomorrow's Plan

I actually miss the clean feeling I felt during my juice feast.  My stomach felt flat and peaceful. I am thinking tomorrow, I want to just drink juices for the entire day.  A one day juice feast.  I have some Lemon Ginger blast already prepared, so I should be all good for the day, maybe  will also make some carrot, apple, ginger and beet juice. Looking forward to it :)

Chia Seeds

These seeds my seem so tiny and defenseless, at first glance. but trust me.. they are a powerhouse!..  Full of Nutrients, fiber and protein.
Add it to your cereal, or sprinkle it to your salad, or just add some vanilla flavored almond milk to it and top it off with some blueberries or strawberries.. YUM!  delicious snack or bfast :)

Give it a try if you are looking for something fast, healthy and delicious.. PLUS, you do not have to cook it which makes it totally convenient :)

After my 10 days feast

I broke my fast with a deliciously juice red apple.  It took me about 3hrs to eat it. I was taking it really slow.
I had a juice and a salad for lunch.  My body was not ready for the salad though; I got a case of bad hiccups, the lasted for about 30 minutes, then kept coming back.  For dinner, I had a juice; no hiccups. :)
The next day, I took it easier, drank juices and just ate fruits.  By the fourth day, I was eating nuts... they did not agree with me either.. I got totally bloated. Then I found out, the nuts were not a good idea to incorporate in my diet so soon.  I am definitely taking notes because I am doing another 10 days fast and I want to break the fast even more gentle.

10 day juice feast

4 weeks ago, I decided to give my body and digestive system a well deserved rest.  For the past two years I had been drinking way to much wine and mixed drinks as well as having too much process snacks like, pita chips, cheese puffs, etc..  The fast had his up and downs. I had support from my sister which I sought after quite often during my 10 day juice feast.  After completing my fast,  I felt sooooo good, not only because of the benefits I got (my skin was clearer and had this new glow to it, my eyelashes got longer, my teeth whiter, and my stomach was a bit flatter) but because I gave body a break!, that was like the best I have ever done for my body.  I am definitely, doing another juice feast in September when apples are readily available and at their best... so yummy.
